Dr. Anadi KC

Vice President

Dear Colleagues, Friends, and Future Leaders,

It is with immense gratitude and a deep sense of purpose that I accept the responsibility of serving as the Vice President of the Young Ophthalmologists’ Society of Nepal. This is more than just a title—it is a calling to stand alongside a generation of dreamers, doers, and dedicated caregivers who are shaping the future of eye health in our country.

This moment is incredibly personal to me. From the humble beginnings of my journey as a medical student in Nepal to the operating theatres, academic halls, and global collaborations that have shaped my path—I’ve always held one belief close to my heart: We rise by lifting others.

Young ophthalmologists today are facing a world of immense challenges, but also unprecedented opportunities. We are not only clinicians. We are innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, teachers, and advocates. And yet, what truly binds us is our unwavering dedication to our patients, our communities, and to each other.

As Vice President, I pledge to be a voice for our aspirations and a bridge between experience and innovation. My goal is to foster a culture of mentorship, global connectivity, and academic growth. I envision a society where every young ophthalmologist in Nepal feels seen, heard, and supported—whether they are in a city hospital, a rural outreach centre, or a quiet corner pouring over research.

Together, we will strive to create more opportunities for hands-on training, international fellowships, academic advancement, and public service. We will advocate for better systems, fairer policies, and stronger professional networks. Most importantly, we will care for one another as a community—not just as colleagues, but as a family.

Let this be our time. A time of rising together. A time of bold dreams backed by quiet resilience. A time of compassionate leadership, grounded in excellence and driven by purpose.

To all my fellow young ophthalmologists—thank you for your trust. I carry this responsibility with humility, and with an unshakable belief in our collective strength.

With hope and solidarity,
Dr. Anadi Khatri K C, MD
Vice President
